Hannah Dubin

The Group Forward
Founder and Principal
Hannah Dubin is described as the “swiss army knife of facilitation” - no matter what the situation, she’s got the perfect activity ready to help move a group forward. With over 15 years of experience working as a facilitator, trainer, and consultant, Hannah’s people-centered approach to problem solving has helped hundreds of teams and organizations meet their goals and better serve their stakeholders.

Hannah has worked with a variety of organizations in the enterprise, nonprofits, education, and social good spaces, including The New York Times, Redken, North Western Mutual, GE, J&J, Marriott Hotels, General Assembly, IBM, Planned Parenthood, The New York City Department of Education, Repair the World, and The Claims Conference. She is the principal and founder of The Group Forward, a facilitation and consulting firm focused on empowering teams to work more effectively together. Though most of The Group Forward’s clients are enterprise and nonprofit organizations, they choose to focus a portion of their work on the camp community, running supervisor leadership training on how to be a “good boss.” Before being a full time entrepreneur, Hannah was the director of leadership at ME to WE, a globally focused social enterprise that among other inspiring products and services, offers transformational leadership experiences for youth who want to change the world.

Hannah has a Masters of Art in leisure studies from the University of Waterloo and a bachelor’s degree in recreation management from Acadia University. In her research, she studied why the right camps seem to turn kids onto learning, and how can we bring these insights into other learning environments like at school, in a training session, or to work? Specifically, she studied optimal learning environments, program evaluation, transfer of training, positive youth development, and high-performing organizational cultures.

Hannah is the beaming mother of two young boys and the wife of a husband she met through camp. She is a proud Canadian living in Brooklyn, NY who is passionate about arts and crafts, grilled cheese sandwiches, sweat pants, and tomato soup on rainy days.
