Camp Alonim - Brandeis-Bardin Campus - American Jewish University
Executive Director
Brandeis, CA
Josh is entering his 10th summer directing Camp Alonim. Josh started at Alonim as a camper in 1991, and his initial homesickness was quickly eclipsed by a love for all things camp. He held various staff positions through the years and helped to create the Gesher internship program. Since returning to Alonim, Josh has overseen the largest sessions in Alonim's history, significant increases in fundraising for scholarships and major facility improvements, and expansions of the camp's teen experiences, arts programs, and year-round offerings. Josh is a graduate of Foundation for Jewish Camp's Executive Leadership Institute and was selected by FJC and the JCC Association to be a Lekhu Lakhem Fellow. In 2017, Josh was selected as one of 15 Jewish professionals nationwide for the inaugural cohort of the Wexner Field Fellowship. Josh attended Brown University, where he delivered a commencement speech that was broadcast on C-SPAN. He was a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs in New York and was an American Jewish Committee Goldman Fellow. Josh holds a law degree from UC Berkeley, where he edited the law review, and previously worked as an attorney and federal law clerk.
