As the Jewish community continues to become more inclusive and as Jewish demographics continue to shift in the direction of greater diversity--in multiple categories--Jewish life is becoming increasingly colorful! With regard to Jewish racial and ethnic diversity, the Jewish camping system has an enormous opportunity and the potential to be on the leading edge of Jewish racial and ethnic inclusion and equity. This is good because Jewish families of color and multiracial Jewish families are a growing market and will be for the foreseeable future. In this session facilitated by the URJ's immediate past VP of Audacious Hospitality April N. Baskin, we'll start by covering who are Jews of Color and then quickly transition to brass tacks regarding how to best leverage your camp's existing strengths to begin taking on greater racial & ethnic inclusion efforts, as well as how to handle roadblocks and challenges. An alum of URJ Camps Swig/Newman and a joy advocate, April is also committed to this content-rich session being both fun and authentic--no holds barred. So come prepared with any and all questions and we'll cover as much as we can!
