Alison Laichter

Alison Laichter is a consultant, facilitator, meditation teacher, urban planner, community organizer, and former Brooklynite, now based in southern California. She designs and facilitates immersive experiences, leads meetings and retreats, coaches individuals at all levels, builds community, and help organizations strategize visions. Her clients include Hillel International, Jewish Funders Network, OneTable, Chopra Center for Wellbeing, Skirball Cultural Center, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, Leichtag Foundation, Experiential Jewish Education Network, OLAM, Jewish Initiative for Animals, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. She founded and directed the first ever grassroots and community-led Jewish Meditation Center in NYC, and was a recipient of the Joshua Venture Group Dual Investment Program, a two-year $100k fellowship for social entrepreneurs. Alison was named one of the Jewish Week’s “36 Under 36: Visionaries for a New Era,” earned a spot in Slingshot’s 50 Most Innovative Jewish Nonprofits in North America three years in a row, and secured residency at Bikkurim: an incubator for new Jewish ideas (now part of UpStart). Alison has a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from The Cooper Union and a Master of Science in Urban Planning from Columbia University.

Alison teaches meditation (Jewish and not) all over the world at schools, museums, retreat centers, hospitals, JCC’s, festivals, conferences, synagogues, farms, and online, and often helps organizations to incorporate and integrate meditation and mindfulness into their work and internal workings. Alison offers classes and workshops, holiday happenings, one-on-one training, mystic-in-residencies, retreats, and special events- all with the approach that sustainable repair of the world happens from the inside out.
